Being new to the data science world, I have heard a lot about Kaggle Competitions. Yesterday, I thought it was about time I actually do some research into them. I knew Kaggle was a community of datasets for data scientists of all experience levels, but I didn't know how extensive of a network it was. In this post, I'll talk about how Kaggle Competitions work and give a list of upcoming competitions to spend your weekend on.
How it works
Founded in 2010, Kaggle uses the human competitive spirit to fuel new methodology and techniques in data science. Each competition has three steps that we are going to break down.
- Preparation: Each competition has a host, and each host has to prepare and provide data.
